UX RESEARCH

In no particular order, below are UCD methodologies and research beyond the typical user and usability testing methods I have done while at Arrow Electronics.

  • WHAT'S IMPORTANT
  • I find research the most important part of the design phase that either gets missed on or neglected due to time and/or money, which can negatively affect the end product or service. Below are some examples of my research at Arrow.com to better understand our user personas, their journeys, and what is important to them. In the case of our user personas and the product Arrow.com sells, research is always necessary when building new features because our user base and their needs are not your typical eCommerce user. This makes my job really fun!

PERSONAS (arrow.com)

To help arrow.com empathize with our user base, my objective was to help research and define our persona sets for the UX team.

DATASHEETS & REFERENCE DESIGNS RESEARCH

How important and where in the journey are they most desired to our users? The visualization represents the journeys and touch-points Arrow.com's user engagement with datasheets and reference designs based on Google Analytics.

PRODUCT DETAIL PAGE RESEARCH

Participatory design/co-discovery is a fun UCD methodology that allows the user to engage in an interactive task to provide feedback on their vision of a particular product, service or part of a journey. In the case, I interviewed 5 engineers on what the desired PDP would look like.

INFORMATION ARCHITECTURE RESEARCH

I was tasked to pull Google Analytics data of Arrow.com's header and footer in order to understand how our users engage the site. The findings will help establish a conversation that will lead into more testing opportunities for the Information Architecture Redesign.

CUSTOMER JOURNEY MAP

As part of the CX team, I created the customer journey map to empathize with our users and chart their touch-points on Arrow.com. By speaking with our customers when began to understand the pain-points and moments of truth, which informed the development teams and stake holders the users perspective on desired needs.
